Headlight Release 2.14

Written by Headlight | Oct 3, 2026, 8:00:00 AM

This release rebuilds how workflow forms are filled in, adds a data quality dashboard for fleet managers, and reworks the screens for filter sets, contacts, company documents and energy cards. Nothing you have set up needs to change.

New in this release

  • Forms keep your answers while you fill them in. Answers to a workflow form are now saved on your device as you type, so a reload, a lost connection or switching to the camera to take a photo no longer wipes them. A panel shows how many questions you have answered and how many required ones are left, and a confirmation step appears before you submit. If a form is sent back to you for a correction, you are told why, and you start from a clean form. This applies to forms you open in Headlight and to forms you receive by a link.
  • Data quality dashboard. A new page shows where your fleet data contradicts itself: cars with a contract that has ended but a driver still on them, duplicate licence plates, two cars on order for one person, missing or implausible CO2, orders never confirmed, and values that changed while a car was being driven. Each finding opens with the evidence behind it, and you can fix it, suppress it with a reason, or export the list. A summary card is available for the fleet manager homepage. Where a check looks at something that changed while a car was being driven, it raises a finding only if the change happened in the last three months, so the list does not open with years of old history; anything already raised stays until it is dealt with. The checks run for every country by default; tell us if you want one switched off.
  • Filter sets rebuilt. The screens for deciding which cars drivers may order have been redesigned: a clearer rule editor for motor type and CO2 limits, a searchable tree for picking makes, models and versions, a brands editor, and a "used by" panel showing which budget levels a set feeds. You can check any single car against a budget level and see exactly why it passes or fails.
  • Contacts and company documents rebuilt. Both pages now share one audience editor: you build the rule for who sees an item and see live which employees and which car groups match, before you publish. The list, the editing panel and the employee preview sit on one screen.
  • Energy cards reorganised. Energy cards on an employee or a vehicle are now split into an Active tab and an Inactive and blocked tab, so a long history of replaced cards no longer hides the card in use.
  • Workflows can start from a custom field change. A workflow can now be triggered when a custom field on an employee changes, for example a role, a site or a contract type.
  • Two new workflow actions. Reset an employee's personal budget limit, and attach a set of bulk quotes to a car policy.

Improvements and fixes

Pool cars

  • The number of cars offered in a pool car selection now matches the filters you set, including when you use select all.
  • Cars not offered to a driver are now marked as such in the fleet manager's list.
  • Cars that are no longer available can no longer be picked by a driver.

Employees

  • Driver changes made in Fleetport now reach Headlight for every vehicle status, not only for some. A planned hand-in date no longer ends a driver's car before the car has actually been handed in.

Workflows

  • A clearer message appears when you open a task you do not have access to.

Documents and knowledge base

  • Removing a knowledge base category now removes the articles inside it, instead of requiring you to remove each individual article.

Imports

  • Car enrichment imports can now carry your own employee numbers.

Elsewhere

  • The columns you pick in a table are remembered, per country.
  • Automated messages are now labelled as AI-generated, and marked until someone verifies them.
  • Lease estimates for Luxembourg have been improved.
  • Lucy, the in-product assistant, runs on a newer model.
  • A legal entity can no longer be merged into itself.
  • Side navigation behaviour improved.
